About Us

From its early beginnings as part of the old St David’s Mental Health Hospital, the library has developed in response to changes in mental health provision over the years and currently provides a modern, 21st century library service for all Health Board staff and students, with a particular emphasis on Learning Disabilities and Mental Health.

Staffing consists of one professionally qualified, Chartered Librarian and one Senior Library Assistant, who work closely with the other four Hywel Dda Libraries to provide a comprehensive service to our patrons.

Opening Hours

Out of hours Access / Arrangements :

As it is situated on a mental health site, access to the building is controlled and users need to be allowed entry by staff working on-site, via an intercom system on the main door.

Unfortunately this does mean that access outside of staffed hours can be difficult so it is best to check with library staff beforehand if you are thinking of visiting.
