The Library is located within the hospital and provides an information service to all Health Board staff, GPs and students on placement.

About Us
The Library was established with the opening of the newly built Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in 1984. In 2002, it moved to its present location on the 1st floor, a short distance from the North Wales Clinical School.
Within the library there is an open plan area for group study and computer access, a training room, a well-being hub and a quiet study room. The Library & Learning Centre is part of BCU Library Service within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Out of hours Access / Arrangements :
The Library and its facilities are accessible to staff 24/7 with a BCUHB ID badge. A self-service kiosk is available to registered library members who wish to issue, renew or return books.

Joining the Library:

To join the library please contact us in person, by phone, email, or by using the online form.
Borrowing Books:

You may borrow a maximum of 10 books

Loans are for either 4 or 2 weeks but you may renew on request

You will receive regular email reminders about your loans

Books not on site can usually be requested via our Inter-Library Loans Service.
Literature Searches:

We can assist you in conducting literature searches for research, clinical audit, service improvement, patient information and education. We will only carry out a literature search on your behalf if the search is for direct patient care or service improvement. Please use the online form.
Databases:

Access to a range of health databases e.g Medline, British Nursing Database, Embase etc are available via the NHS Wales eLibrary for Health
Evidence Summaries:

BMJ Best Practice is supplied through the NHS Wales eLibrary for Health

UpToDate is supplied through BCU Libraries
Article & e-Journal Access:

A wide range of e-journals are now available to NHS Wales staff online via LibrarySearch
